Cairo & Alexandria – 2-Day Historical & Cultural Tour
Experience the best of Egypt’s ancient treasures, iconic landmarks, and Mediterranean charm on this immersive two-day journey through Cairo and Alexandria.
Day 1 – Cairo Highlights
Your adventure begins at night with a comfortable bus pickup from your hotel. The vehicle will also collect other travelers from nearby hotels. The road to Cairo takes approximately 7 hours.
Egyptian Museum – Tahrir Square
Start your day at the historic Egyptian Museum, home to the second-largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. A English-speaking historical guide will accompany you, sharing fascinating insights into the lives, rituals, and treasures of the pharaohs.
Lunch on the Nile
Enjoy a buffet lunch at a traditional Egyptian restaurant on the banks of the Nile River. Afterward, you may take an optional boat ride on the Nile, or relax in the air-conditioned bus.
Giza Plateau – Pyramids & Sphinx
Visit the world-famous Giza Plateau, home to the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Great Sphinx of Giza. You will have 40 minutes of free time to explore, take photos, and marvel at these timeless wonders.
Papyrus & Oil Workshops
End the day with a visit to traditional papyrus and oil workshops to observe local craftsmanship and purchase authentic Egyptian souvenirs.
Afterward, enjoy dinner and check into your Cairo hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2 – Alexandria Excursion
At approximately 7:00 AM, your bus will depart for Alexandria. The journey takes around 3 hours, with breakfast provided on the bus (dry ration/lunch box from the hotel).
Montaza Palace & Royal Park
Visit the grounds of the Montaza Palace, the former summer residence of King Farouk. While the palace itself is closed for renovations, the surrounding park offers scenic walks and beautiful views of the Mediterranean coastline.
Library of Alexandria & Roman Amphitheater
Explore the modern Library of Alexandria and the only preserved Roman amphitheater in Egypt, showcasing the city’s rich Greco-Roman heritage.
Citadel of Qaitbay
Conclude your Alexandria visit with the Citadel of Qaitbay, a 15th-century fortress built on the site of the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria.
Lunch & Return to Hurghada
Enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant before departing for Hurghada in the evening.
